Wrapping Up the Year &
Unwrapping New Possibilities

The holidays are here—and with them, a perfect excuse to slow down, get cozy, and press play on the shows and movies that bring us joy. Whether it’s a timeless classic, a feel-good rom-com, or a hidden gem waiting in the queue, everyone on the Keyring team has a go-to favorite (or two) for this time of year. From nostalgic throwbacks to new discoveries, here’s what we’re watching over the holiday break.
It’s the perfect time of year to cozy up on the couch and enjoy a holiday classic or get caught up on something you missed. Here’s what the Keyring team is watching this holiday break!

Every Christmas I’m excited to share the Christmas memories I had as a child with my kids. One holiday special that I like to share is the Muppets Family Christmas. This was something that I loved as a child because, not only were Kermit and the Muppets there but there are also characters from Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock that joined the show so that the entire Muppet family was together for the holidays. We’ve shared this tradition with our kids for the last few years and now every year they’re excited to watch it again and again, just like I did when I was a kid.

Don’t judge me… but I’ll be watching the vast array of Christmas-themed movies brought to us by Hallmark and the Women’s Network. Although I’m really digging the collection of movies coming out from Netflix. I can’t resist the formulaic charm with those predictable plots, and the picture-perfect towns with fake snow and twinkling lights. They’re a masterclass in creating feel-good content that makes everyone nostalgic, even if it’s 70 degrees outside.

There’s nothing better than cozying up on the couch during the holidays with a warm drink and a heartwarming movie. One of my all-time favorites for this season is Klaus. This beautifully animated film tells a touching story about kindness and connection that resonates with viewers of all ages. Its stunning animation style was so revolutionary that it earned an Annie Award and even an Oscar nomination. Whether you’re watching it for the first time or rewatching it like I do every year, Klaus is the perfect movie to get you into the holiday spirit.

As far as holiday viewing goes I’m always excited to enjoy some of the animated classics but the holiday film that really speaks to my heart is Home Alone. While a whacky romp filled with physical gags on the surface, Home Alone at it’s core is really a warm and sweet film about human connection and family. (That old man always makes me cry at the end!) I also had my mind blown when I realized that almost everything in this movie is red and green. Such thoughtful and festive art direction!
On the non-holiday side I’m excited to dig into Scavengers Reign, a beautifully illustrated animated sci-fi series (based on the short film “Scavengers” which you can find on Youtube) that explores a group of space travelers navigating the strange flora and fauna of an alien planet. I’m also excited to finally finish “Make it Stick” a fascinating book about learning I’m currently part way through. So much interesting stuff, so little time!
