Our Process
We’ve spent over a decade crafting an animation process that’s not only efficient but is also deeply collaborative with structured check-ins throughout to keep the experience simple and fun.
Let’s walk through it!
1. Discovery
Let’s get to know each other! Each project begins with a discovery conversation.
Our role: Listen and learn, then develop a budget and some ideas for you
Your role: Help us understand your target audience, your organization’s personality and the problem you want to solve.
2. Develop Script & Concept
Time to get creative!
Our role: We gather up all the information, organize it, simplify the language and wrap it all in a creative package that’s compelling and easy to understand.
Your role : Share your ideas, support us with your expertise
Approval Stage 1: Sign off on the concept and script structure.
3. Styleframes
Design Time!
Our role: We’ll create up to three visual styles for your project.
Your role: Help us get it right. Provide your brand guide and any brand assets like logos, photos, colours and fonts. Then pick your favourite visual style!
Approval Stage 2: Sign off on the visual art style to be applied to the entire video.
4. Storyboard
We’ve got the script, we’ve got the style, now let’s build the video!
Our role: We’ll design and layout each key scene and send you an animatic (which is really just a storyboard timed out to music and a rough voiceover!) We want to show you all the key moments in context for approval.
Your role: Give your feedback on the proposed scene designs, music, and timing. This is your chance to make any final tweaks to the script before the final voice-over.
Approval Stage 3: Sign off on the visual design and layout for each scene, music and final script.
5. Animation
Time to get things moving!
Our role: We add motion, transitions and life to the approved scenes from the animatic.
Your role: Here you’re looking at the pace of the video, the way things move and any small tweaks to the visuals.
Approval Stage 4: Sign off on the movement and animation for each scene.
6. Polish
Almost there! Now we put the finishing touches on things.
Our role: We’ll add sound effects, mix the audio and make any final little tweaks.
Your role : Sign off on the final video! And get ready to share with your organization!
7. Delivery
Your hard work has resulted in a fabulous animated video you are itching to share!
Our role: We will create your final video files (masters) and supporting accessibility files for closed captioning.

PLEASE NOTE :
Each approval stage is your chance to share your thoughts and make your mark on your video. We schedule in time to make changes at each stage to be sure we’re on target to achieve your goals.
Making changes to elements of the video after they’ve already been approved can undo work that’s already been completed, slow down the process and potentially incur extra costs so make sure to share all your thoughts and get everyone’s eyes on things at each approval stage.
